Minor killed in Begusarai over enmity with her maternal grandfather
PATNA, May 9 -- A two-year-old girl was shot dead at Manepur village falling under Bhagwanpur police station late on Wednesday allegedly by some people who had an old enmity with her maternal grandfather, police said.
The incident took place when the victim identified as Ritika Kumari, a native of Kazi Rasalpur, was playing outside her maternal grandfather's house. Police said some people led by one Chhotu Mahto entered the house of one Amarjeet Shah and started searching. When they could not found Amarjeet, Chhotu allegedly shot the minor and fled.
Following the incident, tension gripped Pipra-Samsa road near Manour Chowk. Angry villagers blocked the road, placed the body in the middle, burnt tyres, and disrupted vehicular traffic for over three hours, demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits.
