BHABUA, Feb. 3 -- Kaimur police have solved the murder of a 17-year-old boy who was killed due to mistaken identity at Bhagwanpur market. A girl allegedly hired a hitman to kill her lover, but an innocent minor was shot dead instead. Four persons, including the girl, have been arrested, officials said. On the evening of January 21, Sushil Chaurasia (17), a resident of Ilian village in Uttar Pradesh, was shot dead by unidentified bike-borne assailants at Bhagwanpur market. He was working at the battery shop of his relative, Munna Chaurasia. Following the incident, the victim's father lodged a murder case against unknown criminals at the Bhagwanpur police station. Taking the incident seriously, superintendent of police (SP) Hari Mohan Shukla constituted a special investigation team (SIT) under sub-divisional police officer (SDPO), Bhabua, Manoranjan Bharti, with Bhagwanpur SHO Chandra Shekhar Sharma. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and technical surveillance teams were also roped in. Based on CCTV footage, technical surveillance and ground intelligence, the SIT arrested four accused - Sohail Khan of Sikandarpur village in Chainpur block, Ashish Pandey of Dhobaha village in Chand block, Srishti Kumari, and a juvenile from Bhagwanpur village. Briefing mediapersons on Monday, the SP said Srishti Kumari was in a relationship with her neighbour Prem Pasi. However, her family had arranged her marriage elsewhere, following which Prem Pasi allegedly began blackmailing her to stop the marriage. Distressed by his actions, Srishti Kumari allegedly contacted Sohail Khan and hired him to kill Prem Pasi. Sohail Khan reportedly treated her like a sister. He made three failed attempts to murder Prem Pasi - twice alone and once with Ashish Pandey. On the day of the incident, Sohail Khan and Ashish Pandey arrived at Bhagwanpur market on a motorcycle, while a juvenile acted as a spotter and provided Prem Pasi's location. Prem Pasi had parked his motorcycle outside Munna Chaurasia's shop and gone inside, while Sushil Chaurasia was standing nearby with his face covered with a muffler. Mistaking Sushil Chaurasia for Prem Pasi, the accused allegedly opened fire and fled, killing the minor on the spot....
