PATNA, Sept. 3 -- Tourism minister Raju Singh on Tuesday launched Bihar's first open double-decker bus service along the JP Ganga Path in Patna, offering visitors a unique experience similar to Mumbai's iconic tours. The service, operated by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), will run on a 15-km stretch from Digha Rotary to Kangan Ghat. Singh said the initiative would allow tourists to enjoy a splendid view of the Ganga River. BSTDC managing director Nand Kishore added that the service is expected to give a significant boost to tourism in the state. The bus has 40 seats-20 air-conditioned seats on the lower deck and 20 open seats on the upper deck. It is also equipped with a toilet, refrigerator, and a guide to provide information on the city's scenic and historical landmarks. Operating from 5 PM to 10 PM, the bus route covers major attractions including JP Ganga Path Golambar, Sabhyata Dwar, Darbhanga House, Gandhi Ghat, Mahatma Gandhi Setu, Chitragupta Temple, and Kangan Ghat. The fare has been fixed at Rs.100 per person for a round trip and Rs.50 per person for a one-way journey. Officials said more buses may be introduced depending on the response.
