Migrant worker kills wife over 'infidelity': Cops
BETTIAH, July 31 -- A migrant worker allegedly clobbered his wife to death with an axe at home here, accusing her of infidelity during his stay outside the state, police said on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Jhakhara village under Piprakothi police station limits in East Champaran district. Police said the accused, identified as Subodh Manjhi (34), attacked his wife Malti Devi (30) while she was asleep alongside her sister-in-law at her parents' home, where she had been staying for the past few years.
Earlier, Manjhi, a resident of Khedalpur village in Kesariya police station area, had confronted Malti and accused her of having a relationship with another man while he was working as a daily wager in Kerala.
The couple had been married for eight years and had a child from the marriage, locals told police.
"The killer husband has been arrested and the axe used in the crime has been seized," said Dhananjay Kumar, station house officer (SHO) of Piprakothi police station....
