Medicos suspend stipend stir for 10 days, rejoin duty
PATNA, Aug. 28 -- Final year MBBS students, pursuing their internship, across medical colleges of the Bihar government, suspended their strike for ten days over revision of monthly stipend, and resumed normal duties on Wednesday, much to the relief of poor patients, said the medicos.
"We are giving the state government 10 days time to revise our stipend, failing which we will resort to a full-fledged strike," said a junior doctor of the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH) in a statement on behalf of the agitating MBBS interns of the state.
Around 1,100 MBBS interns had struck work on Tuesday, disrupting outdoor patient department (OPD) services partially across all 10 state-run medical colleges in Bihar....
