ARARIA, Aug. 31 -- A man was allegedly burnt alive in retaliation for a murder over a land dispute in Bihar's Araria district early Saturday morning, police said, adding that both victims were close relatives. The deceased were identified as 35-year-old Jai Kumar Yadav and 40-year-old Nayan Yadav, residents of Navtola Dhansuri village under Bhargama police station. Following the incident, heavy security forces were deployed in the village to prevent further violence. According to police, Jai Kumar Yadav was first shot dead while asleep late Friday night. Soon after, his family members and relatives attacked the house of the alleged accused, Nayan Yadav, setting it ablaze. Unable to escape the mob, Nayan was charred to death. Two motorcycles parked nearby were also gutted in the fire. "Prima facie, it appears to be a case of property dispute. However, a probe is underway," Superintendent of Police (SP) Anjani Kumar, who rushed to the spot, said. He added that forensic experts had collected evidence from the site and raids were being conducted at possible hideouts of the accused. "We cannot say right now whether Nayan was burnt alive or thrown into the flames after being killed," the SP said. The bodies have been sent to the district hospital for postmortem....
