Man held in Haridwar during robbery bid: Cops
Haridwar, May 23 -- A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Haridwar while allegedly trying to carry out a theft, police said on Thursday.
"The accused, identified as Sonu Prajapati, a resident of Chhatrapati Shivaji Nagar in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, was caught by a patrolling police team on Wednesday night near Palturam Square in Shivalik Nagar," said Kamal Mohan Bhandari, station house officer of SIIDCUL police station.
He further said that Prajapati tried to flee when he saw the patrol team but was quickly chased down and apprehended by the police. During a search, a country-made pistol was recovered from his possession. In the course of interrogation, he confessed to committing the crime....
