PATNA, May 12 -- Kotwali police on Sunday arrested a man on charge of duping people in the name of providing jobs in Patna High Court. The police recovered fake documents from his house. SHO of Kotwali police station, Rajan Kumar, said that acting on a tip off, a police raided Masaurhi and arrested a man identified as Subash Chandra, kingpin of the gang, who was wanted in connection with the providing fake jobs of group-D in the Patna high court. Subash used to be known from several names, as Subash Chandra Bose, guard saheb and Subash Chandravanshi. Patna high court deputy registrar Jai Kumar Singh had lodged a case in this connection in 2023 against three named persons as Subash Chandra, Sintu Kumar and Sharwan Kumar. Sintu has died while Sharwan is still at large while raids are on to arrest him, he added. SHO said that Subash swindled worth Rs.2 lakh for providing jobs and Rs.10,000 for giving ID-cards of the high court. "We are interrogating him to get to know other members of the gang." On March 25, 2025, the police had arrested two cyber frauds who allegedly cheated people by promising jobs in Patna high court and secretariat. The police had arrested two persons for creating fake websites of the high court and secretariat to lure unsuspecting job seekers. The special task force on Sunday arrested wanted Naxal Dev Kumar Paswan from Regania area under Amas police station in Gaya district.
