Man held for murder in U'khand
Rudrapur, Nov. 2 -- A 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murdering a government teacher in a colony of Rudrapur in Udham Singh Nagar district, police said on Saturday, adding that the man was living in her house as a caretaker for the last 14-15 years.
Senior superintendent of police (SSP), US Nagar, Manikant Mishra said, "Police have arrested a man on Saturday in connection with the suspicious death of a teacher. Her charred body was found in her house on Tuesday."
The deceased, Sushma Pant (52) used to live in phase-2 of Kaushaliya enclave colony on Gangapur road in Rudrapur. She was posted as a teacher in the government primary school of Siroli Kalan village under Kichha police station. Her charred body was found on Tuesday from her house. Police took Ajay Shankar Mishra, a resident of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh. Mishra runs a Dhaba on Fulsunga road in Rudrapur itself. On Thursday, Surendra Pal, president of Kaushaliya enclave colony handed a complaint to the police. He said Sushma visited his house and alleged that Mishra has been harassing her and forcing her to consume prohibited tablets....
