Dehradun, July 21 -- A 55-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly killing his 17-year-old daughter by pushing her into a canal in Manglaur area in Haridwar district, police said on Sunday. "The accused, identified as Pradeep Kumar Dhiman, a resident of Dhalwala under SIDCUL police station, pushed her daughter into the Manglaur canal from a bridge on Saturday. A first information report (FIR) was registered against the accused at Manglaur police station under section 103 (1) (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) on the complaint of senior sub-inspector (SSI) Rafat Ali," police said. Police said locals and Kanwariyas physically confronted the accused before the police took him into custody.
