Man gets 25-year RI for rape of minor girl
BHABUA, June 29 -- The special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) court of 6th additional district and sessions judge Pramod Kumar Pandey sentenced a rape accused to 25 years rigorous imprisonment. The court also imposed Rs.1 lakh fine on him.
Accused Avinash Kumar (24) of Kalhanua village under Durgawati police station of Kaimur district was found guilty under sections 376 (3) and 341 of the Indian Penal Code and section 4 of POCSO Act for raping a minor on June 3, 2023, special public prosecutor Shashi Bhushan Pandey said.
The court sentenced him to 25 years RI and Rs.50,000 fine under section 376 (3) of IPC and the same imprisonment and fine under section 4 POCSO Act. All the convictions would run concurrently. The court also directed the District Legal Service Authority, Kaimur to pay Rs.5 lakh compensation to the victim, Pandey said....
