MADHUBANI, Jan. 6 -- Police on Monday arrested three persons, including the main accused, for allegedly assaulting a Muslim youth after falsely branding him a "Bangladeshi" in Chakdah village under Rajnagar police station limits of Madhubani, officials said. The incident took place on December 30, when the victim was allegedly beaten up by a group of people. A video of the assault later went viral on social media. The victim was identified as Mohammad Murshid, a mason and a native of Basantpur block in Supaul district. The arrested men were identified as Kailash Mukhia, Shiv Kumar and Priyanshu alias Lekh Nath, all residents of Chakdah Nandnagar village. Police said efforts are on to arrest other suspects.
