Love-struck South Korean held for overstaying in India
BETTIAH, May 20 -- A 52-year-old South Korean national was arrested for allegedly overstaying in India by Bihar's Raxaul police in coordination with the immigration department in Raxaul town of East Champaran, police said.
Police said that Kim Young Dae, a citizen of Kyoung Ki Do province of South Korea, was allegedly in a "live-in" relationship with a girl from Manipur and had a daughter out of a relationship. "Dae was apprehended from a hotel in Raxaul on Sunday evening following information about his move to sneak into Nepal from Indian territory," said Rajiv Nandan Sinha, station house officer (SHO), Raxaul.
"He has been sent to jail," the SHO added.
Police recovered several incriminating documents, including Aadhaar card, from his possession besides Indian and Nepali currency.
The investigator found that Dae came to India in 2017 and worked as project manager with a construction company in Chennai on an employment visa which was extended till January 2021 following its expiry. In the meantime, he came in contact with a girl from Manipur through a social media platform and the duos got into a "live-in" relationship and had a daughter out of the relationship on February 27, 2023....
