leopard attacks trigger panic in Pauri Garhwal
Haridwar, Aug. 3 -- A sense of fear has gripped residents of Pauri town after multiple leopard sightings and attacks were reported in the municipal limits over the past week. According to locals, leopards have been spotted in areas around the Buakhaal-Nag Dev temple road, Kandoliya temple-Tekka road, Chweecha village, and Upper Road.
Local resident Karan Negi said a leopard along with two cubs was seen by villagers in Chweecha, prompting them to avoid walking alone, especially children, on the foot trail leading to Pauri town. Three people were injured in separate leopard attacks in the past three weeks near the Ganga Darshan bend viewpoint on the Pauri-Srinagar (Garhwal) road....
