PATNA, July 21 -- Patna police on Sunday claimed to have arrested four accused from Kolkata, including lead shooter Tauseef Raza alias Badshah, for their alleged involvement in the murder of gangster Chandan Mishra, who was shot dead by five gunmen at Paras hospital under Shastrinagar police station in Patna on July 17. However, no arms used in the crime had been recovered, said police. All four were arrested under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act, a senior police officer said, adding that the Bihar police was waiting for transit remand of the accused from a court in Kolkata. Conforming the arrest, Patna SSP, Kartikeya Sharma, in a press conference said that Tauseef, his cousin Nishu Khan and their other associates Harsh and Bhim were nabbed in Kolkata on Saturday. "We are waiting for the arrival of Tauseef and three others, after which we will immediately step up investigations into the case and ensure justice," the SSP said. Sharma said that after the murder of Chandan Mishra, the shooters had escaped to different places. "We were raiding several places in this connection and interrogated several persons. In the course of the investigation, the police surrounded the main shooter Tauseef alias Badshah and arrested him from Kolkata. Kolkata police and Kolkata STF helped the Patna police and that is why we managed to arrest Tauseef. Besides Tauseef, three more persons have been arrested who had helped him," he added. The SSP said that preliminary investigation, it was revealed that the conspiracy was hatched at the house of Nishu Khan, where all the shooters assembled and planned the killing. "Two other people Harsh Kumar and Bhim were also there and they helped shooters in escaping after the incident. Tauseef had criminal antecedents as being booked under NDPS, Arms Act and attempt to murder, and extortion and Arms Act cases were lodged against Nishu. The police are verifying credential of Harsh and Bhim." "Harsh and Bhim were living with Nishu as caretakers because Nishu had bullet injuries. Nishu escaped with shooters after the incident. All shooters have been identified. We had taken proclamation order against three accused in which one has been arrested," the SSP said. The SSP said that so far nine accused have been identified in this case. "Some more persons are likely to be involved. We are also investigating the hospital's role as to why the security staff did not stop them."...
