DANAPUR, Nov. 4 -- RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Monday entered the electioneering, doing a roadshow for Danapur party candidate Ritlal Yadav.
He did the roadshow from his vehicle, waving hands to the people and announcing victory for the RJD.
"Tejashwi Prasad will be the CM and the government will change on November 14. The campaigning is going on well and all the party leaders are working hard," he said, in his first active participation in the ongoing election and an indication that he could finally take the baton in his hand.
At several places, excited supporters welcomed Lalu with flowers and even a JCB machine to shower petals on his convoy.
"This is the love for Lalu Prasad that refuses to diminish, as he continues to rule the hearts of the people," said a local RJD worker Dinesh Prasad Rai.
Incidentally, RJD candidate Ritlal Yadav is at present lodged in jail in connection with an alleged extortion demand of Rs.50 lakh.
The roadshow started from Digha and continued till Khagaul, an approximate distance of 15 kms. He was accompanied by daughter Misa Bharti, MP from Pataliputra under which Danapur falls.
In Danapur, Ritlal is against BJP's Ram Kripal Yadav, former Pataliputra MP who lost to Anisa in 2024. Ram Kripal was earlier in the RJD.
Ritlal Yadav surrendered before Danapur court on April 17, 2025. Approximately two months ago, the RJD MLA was transferred from Beur Jail to Bhagalpur's Special Central Jail for security reasons. Ritlal has been placed in the high-security T-cell in the third block of the prison.
Last year also, Prasad had campaigned for daughter Rohini Acharya in Saran during the Lok Sabha election.
Meanwhile, a day after arrest of former JD(U) MLA and Mokama candidate, Anant Singh, Union minister JD(U)'s Rajeev Ranjan alias Lalan Singh on Monday campaigned for the incarcerated leader and termed the Mokama murder case a "pre-planned conspiracy" to frame the party leader.
Lalan Singh met people in Mokama and appealed to them to elect the Bahubali.
Defending Anant Singh, arrested in the Dularchand Yadav (75) murder case, Lalan Singh alleged that there was a major conspiracy behind the incident and it was deliberately orchestrated ahead of election.
"Anant Singh going to jail will have no effect. Many videos of the incident have surfaced. Watching them makes it clear that this was a complete conspiracy. The police are investigating. My request to the police is that everyone's face should be exposed," he added.
Official sources, familiar with the matter, said Anant was told by the party leadership to be prepared to face legal action.
Before police took him into custody on November 1, Anant had campaigned in Mokama despite being named in the murder case, as the gangster-politician decided not to go underground and pleased innocence....
