PATNA, June 25 -- Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD) chief Lalu Prasad on Tuesday was declared elected as party chief after the completion of scrutiny of papers and other formalities was done by the party's election officers, a press statement said. A formal announcement of RJD chief 's election to the top post would be made on July 5th during the party's national council meeting. Prasad, 78, had filed his nomination for the top post on Monday and he was the sole candidate to the top post. RJD chief , who is ailing for a long time, has got elected to the top post for the 13th time having been holding the post since the party's inception in 1997. Meanwhile, JD(U) and BJP leaders took potshots at the organisational polls in RJD and election of RJD chief. Shyam Rajak, senior JD(U) leader and former BJP MP Ram Kripal Yadav said the organisational polls in the RJD was just an eye-wash as the outfit is known for being controlled by one family. "RJD promotes family rule and any such election in the party has little meaning," he said....
