AURANGABAD, July 25 -- In a tragic incident, an industrial labourer lost his life after falling from a height while carrying out repair work at the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) power project in Nabinagar, Aurangabad district, on Wednesday afternoon, officials said. The deceased, identified as Jitendra Kumar (40), was a resident of Mahuli Parsa village under Mali police station limits in the district. According to police, he was working near a boiler, around seven metres above the ground, when the safety rope broke, causing him to fall and sustain a severe head injury. Fellow workers rushed him to the NTPC hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Narari Kala police station in-charge Dinesh Kumar reached the site and sent the body to Aurangabad for post-mortem.
