PATNA, March 7 -- Umesh Singh Kushwaha was re-elected unopposed as JD(U) state president for the third consecutive time. Party's state election officers Ashok Kumar 'Munna' and Paramhans Kumar presented him with the certificate. Kushwaha had filed his nomination papers in four sets before the state election officers. No other candidate filed nomination papers for this post by the stipulated deadline. Following the completion of the prescribed scrutiny process, he was declared elected unopposed. Kushwaha after his election said it was his great fortune that, under the blessings and guidance of the party's universally accepted leader, national president and chief minister Nitish Kumar, he had been given the opportunity to serve as the Bihar state president of the Janata Dal (U) for the third consecutive time.
