Kosi riverfront opens, to boost eco-tourism
Haldwani, May 8 -- In a move to promote eco-tourism, the Uttarakhand forest department inaugurated the Kosi riverfront along the banks of the Kosi river in Ramnagar, located within the Corbett landscape, on Wednesday and opened it to public, officials aware of the matter said.
The riverfront was ceremonially inaugurated by Ramnagar MLA Diwan Singh Bisht, they added.
Diganth Nayak, divisional forest officer (DFO) of the Ramnagar forest division, said, "The Kosi riverfront has been created to encourage eco-tourism, allowing tourists and local residents to appreciate the region's natural beauty and biodiversity without disturbing the environment. During winter, the area also attracts a variety of migratory bird species."
The riverfront features nature trails, benches, walkways, and public toilets for visitors' convenience....
