GAYA JI, Oct. 10 -- Gaya Ji police on Thursday recovered a youth kidnapped for ransom within eight hours of his kidnapping. The three abductors were also arrested. Senior superintendent of police (SSP) Anand Kumar said that one Kamlesh Yadav of Balthar village under Barachatti police station area informed police in the morning that his son Sonu Kumar had been kidnapped and the abductors had demanded Rs.1 lakh ransom for his safe release. A case was registered with Barachatti police station and the SSP formed a special investigation team (SIT) under city SP Ramanand Kumar Kaushal to ensure swift and safe recovery of the youth and arrest of the criminals. Based on rapid technical investigation, identification of possible hideouts with the help of ground intelligence, the SIT located the criminals near the Sobh Bazar Hanuman Temple and conducted a raid. The kidnapped youth was recovered and three kidnappers, later identified as Vikas Kumar and Sandeep Kumar of Tetaria and Kashmir Kumar of Bhagwati village under the Barachatti police station area, were arrested. Preliminary investigations suggested that the planned kidnapping was the result of a love affair and several persons were involved in the crime.
