Khera supports Tejashwi's job announcement
PATNA, Oct. 19 -- All India Congress Committee (AICC) media and communication department head Pawan Khera on Saturday declared that "everything is okay" in Bihar's Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan), confidently asserting that the coalition is poised to form the next government.
Speaking at Hindustan Samagam, Khera sidestepped ongoing seat-sharing disputes between the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), even as Congress candidates faced off against allies, including the RJD and Left parties, in several constituencies.
The coalition, comprising RJD, Congress, three Left parties, Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and the Indian Inclusive Party (IIP), is grappling with finalising its seat-sharing formula. Reports indicate "friendly fights" in at least eight seats, where Congress candidates are pitted against RJD and Left nominees, risking fragmentation of the anti-NDA vote among Bihar's over 70 million electorate.
Khera endorsed RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav's ambitious pledge to provide government jobs to one member of every family in Bihar. Addressing doubts about creating 25 million jobs, he highlighted Tejashwi's record during the RJD-led government's 17-month tenure from 2022 to 2024. "Tejashwi Yadav has already shown how to deliver jobs... In just 17 months, 5 lakh jobs were created, and a process for 12 lakh more was initiated. We trust his vision..."
The job promise targets Bihar's youth, Yadavs, Muslims, Dalits and EBCs, aligning with the coalition's strategy to capitalise on anti-incumbency over unemployment and inflation....
