PATNA, May 5 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday declared the Khelo India Youth games, 2025 open through a video message while Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lighted the youth games cauldron at Patliputra sports complex to inaugurate the mega sports event. The youth games, a mega competition of 10,000 athletes in 28 sports, is being held at six places namely Patna, Rajgir, Gaya, Begusarai, Bhagalpur and Delhi. The event will be held from May 4 to May 15. In his speech, the chief minister expressed happiness that the games were being held in Bihar and also thanked PM Modi for opening the games through video message. Union minister of youth affairs and sports Mansukh Mandaviya and union minister of state for youth affairs and sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse as well as two deputy CMs, Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha as well as many other senior ministers were present at the inaugural event. Cultural items including songs were presented by artists like Maithili Thakur and actor Pankaj Tripathi. The CM said the event was being held in Patna, Gaya, Rajgir, Bhagalpur and Begusarai while underlining that the sports infrastructure at these centers had been strengthened and modernised in last few years.
