PATNA, July 22 -- Four accused in Patna hospital murder case, including main shooter Tausif Raja alias Badshah, were produced before the court of ACJM-9 here on Monday. Tausif was sent to three days police remand while remaining three accused were forwarded to judicial custody. The four were brought to Patna on a 48-hour transit remand from Kolkata on Monday, The accused were arrested in a joint operation by Bihar and West Bengal police from a guest house in Anandpur, Kolkata, and were brought by road via Gaya, Jehanabad under heavy security. The convoy of police vehicles carrying the accused went to Patna police line, with officials maintaining tight surveillance. Badshah, his cousin Nishu Khan, caretaker Harsh, and nursing aide Bhim were arrested in Kolkata and brought to Patna in a black Scorpio, escorted by four police vehicles. They will be produced in the court late evening or Tuesday. Tausif is one of the key accused in the sensational murder of gangster Chandan Kumar Mishra, shot dead inside a prominent hospital here on July 17. The four other shooters are still at large. All the four accused were kept in Patna police line, where Bihar STF led by ADG (Operation) Kundan Krishnan and Patna police interrogated them. Badshah's arrest could lead to key revelations regarding the mastermind behind the killing and the motive. The accused are expected to undergo medical examination before being presented in Patna civil court, where the police will seek remand for detailed interrogation. Police are actively questioning several suspects related to the case. Multiple individuals are currently in custody and being interrogated to uncover the broader network involved in the murder conspiracy. Investigators believe the killing was meticulously planned and involved coordination across state lines. "Police are interrogating them for recovery of firearms, whereabouts of four shooters, men behind the planning, executed crime, financial supporters, logistic supporters etc.," said city SP (Central) Diksha, adding investigation into the murder would continue as usual. "We will question them to find out more about the remaining suspects," she said. "Once we get their custody we will thoroughly interrogate them and able to know the exact motive behind this incident," she added. During their interrogation, police learned that the murder was plotted at Nishu's residence in Samanpura- behind Paras Hospital. Minutes after Mishra's murder, Tausif fled to Nishu's house from there, the group, including Nishu Harsh and Bhim, drove to Kolkata via Gaya, and Barhi. The guest house room in Kolkata was pre-booked on July 16, indicating the murder was a premeditated act. Nishu and Tausif, who are foster brothers, were both previously patients at Paras Hospital. Interestingly, both share a fascination for social media reels - Tausif calls himself 'Badshah', while Nishu prefers 'Bhaijaan'. Acting on a tip-off from Tausif's family, police tracked the accused to New Town in Kolkata. Bihar STF, assisted by Kolkata police, raided two flats (206 and 406) at Sukhi Vrishti Awasan Apartment in Shapoorji area. Though five suspects were initially picked up, they were released after questioning. Later, the key accused fled the area in a white SUV. CCTV footage helped track their route through Basanti Highway, Anandpur, the Kolkata Leather Complex, and finally Bhangar, where they were intercepted and arrested. Police said investigations reveal that Tausif had prior connections at Paras Hospital, having visited frequently for a friend's treatment. Nishu too was a patient at Paras, being paralysed after a 2023 shooting. Police have questioned several hospital staff members. A list of the hospital's security personnel has been sought. Two FIRs have been registered at Shastri Nagar police station. The first, filed by Chandan Mishra's father, names Dr Pintu and Paras Hospital staff, alleging that Chandan was kept an extra day unnecessarily. The second FIR, based on hospital attendant Durgesh Pathak's statement, also accuses Paras staff of delaying emergency response by 15 minutes after the shooting. Police officials familiar with the matter said the murder plot was orchestrated from Purulia Jail in West Bengal. Omkar Nath Singh alias Sheru Singh, a notorious gangster, is believed to have paid Rs.10 lakh to Tausif for killing Chandan. STF teams from Bihar and Bengal interrogated Sheru in Purulia Jail, obtaining crucial details about the conspiracy. Senior SP Kartikeya Sharma said police would push for a speedy trial and strict punishment. While the murder weapon and motorcycles remain missing, police have seized Nishu's car in Kolkata. Harsh and Bheem, who helped Nishu travel due to his paralysis, are also accused of facilitating the escape....
