JSSC-CGL 'paper leak' matter now reaches SC
Ranchi, Dec. 20 -- A fortnight after Jharkhand High Court vacated the stay put on December 17 last year on the publication of Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam organised by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) on September 21 and 22 for selection of over 2,000 candidates for graduate-level government jobs last year, a special leave petition (SLP) has been filed before the Supreme Court against the order.
A candidate, who appeared in the exam, said coaching institute director Prakash Kumar had filed the SLP.
"A coaching institute director Prakash Kumar, who had filed the case in HC, has filed the SLP. The petition made the apex court aware of the irregularities in conduction of recruitment examination and explained how paper was leaked. It is expected to be taken up in January," the candidate said on anonymity.
On December 3, a bench under Chief Justice of Jharkhand HC Tarlok Singh Chouhan ordered the appointment of the candidates, staying the result of 10 students, who are in jail.
The HC dismissed the CBI probe into the paper leak matter but allowed the probe by a special investigation team (SIT) to continue. It ordered that if during SIT probe any other candidate qualified for the jobs was found guilty, his/her job would get affected.
Five days after the HC direction, JSSC on December 8 published the final result.
"We have approached the Supreme Court as our last hope for justice and expect a fair and just decision from there," a student close to the matter said....
