DARBHANGA, Nov. 12 -- Former DGP (Home Guard) and Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) candidate from Darbhanga Assembly constituency, RK Mishra, staged a day-long sit-in here on Tuesday, demanding stern action against Town Police Station SHO Arvind Kumar for alleged bias and dereliction of duty during polls. Mishra alleged he and his aide were manhandled by BJP-backed supporters during his campaign at Hasan Chowk on November 1 and again on November 6 at Shivajinagar, when they tried to photograph a hoarding violating the Model Code. He claimed despite lodging an FIR, no action was taken. In a letter to the chief electoral officer, Mishra accused the SHO of shielding the accused under political pressure and alleged that the DM, SSP and election observer ignored his repeated complaints at the behest of sitting BJP MLA Sanjay Saraogi.
