JSP candidate disappears, later surfaces on facebook with 'RSS leanings'
PATNA, Oct. 19 -- The mysterious disappearance of Jan Suraaj Party (JSP) candidate for the Danapur assembly segment, Akhilesh Kumar alias Mutur Sao, who went missing on Friday before filing his nomination papers, took an interesting turn on Saturday. The leader took to Facebook to showcase his ideological leanings toward the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Akhilesh, a former BJP Mandal president, ex-ward councilor of Nagar Parishad and a young Vaishya leader, created a furore in Jan Suraaj circles, when on Friday he was scheduled to submit his papers after visiting a Ravanshi Nagar temple but did not return, leaving his supporters in a state of panic. His cell phone was switched off. A missing complaint was registered with Danapur police station, however, police said Akhilesh is now believed to be on his way back home.
Police said that Akhilesh, went to offer prayers at around 10.30 am with a few associates. Tension mounted among supporters gathered at a community hall at the Takiyapar, where hundreds had assembled to accompany him to file his nomination. When he failed to arrive by 1.30pm and his phone became unreachable, panic spread among party workers. Supporters searched for him using the flower-decorated car he was supposed to use for nomination, but he could not be found. Meanwhile, the Jan Suraaj team circulated a message, saying that their candidate had suddenly gone missing and expressing apprehension about a possible abduction.
Twenty-four hours after his disappearance, Akhilesh Kumar took to Facebook on Saturday, posting a picture with the Union home minister along with an apology. He wrote: "The ideals and discipline that the party has taught me are my greatest strength."...
