PATNA, Oct. 19 -- In a setback to Lok Janshakti party (Ram Vilas), party's nominee from Marhaura Seema Singh's nomination has been rejected, as per reports. The ECI website too shows Singh's nomination as rejected from the Marhaura seat in Saran district. People familiar with the matters said Singh's affidavit and form had certain technical errors leading to the rejection of her nomination papers. A senior state election department official said that the LJV(RV) candidate's name was missing with the name of one of the proposers given in the form apart from other shortcomings , which led to the rejection of the form. LJP(RV) chief and Union minister Chiraj Paswan said a representation had been given to the ECI on this matter. "We expect this matter to be resolved in next couple of days. I feel there was a minor lapse ,which led to this kind of situation," Paswan said, while reacting to the reports about rejection of the nomination papers of his party's nominee from the Marhaura seat. Evidently, the rejection of Singh's nomination is a setback for the LJP(RV) as the party is facing a situation where one of its candidates may not be eligible to contest in the high stakes assembly polls. The LJP(RV) had got 29 seats in seat sharing deal with NDA partners. Bihar is going to polls in two phases.
