jmm backs lalu family, asks ec not to let case raised in polls
RANCHI, Oct. 14 -- Raising doubts over the 'timing' of the framing of charges by the Rouse Avenue court in New Delhi against RJD chief Lalu Prasad and his family members, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) on Monday urged the Election Commission of India to restrict the political parties from raising the alleged lands-for-job scam issue in the Bihar assembly polls campaign.

Underlining that the statements of the BJP and NDA leaders following the development in court makes the motive of the saffron camp clear, Bhattacharya urged the ECI to bar the NDA leaders from using it in the election campaign if it wants to ensure a free and fair poll.
"The CEC has said they would hold a free, fair and transparent election. If they want to walk the talk, they should ban the BJP and other opposition leaders from using the case in the election campaign against Tejashwi Yadav who is the leader of the largest party in Bihar and the Mahagathbandhan. The print and electronic media should also be barred from carrying any such statement," he added....
