Jharkhand min seeks MSP hike for forest crops
RANCHI, July 21 -- Jharkhand's agriculture, animal husbandry and co-operative minister Shilpi Neha Tirkey has written a letter to Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram seeking increase in minimum support (MSP) price on minor forest products (MFP).
"Minimum support price (MSP) of minor forest produce is determined and implemented under the 'MSP FOR MFP' scheme run by the ministry of tribal affairs. But it has been observed that the MSP fixed for minor forest products (MFP) is much lower than the current market price. So, the tribal community dependent on MFP is not getting due benefits," her letter reads....
