JD(U) leader stabbed by youth over old enmity
ARA, Nov. 25 -- A JD(U) leader, Sonam Patel, president of women's wing of Koilwar block, was stabbed on Monday afternoon near the South Rural Bank in Kulhadia village, under Koilwar police station, over a previous dispute, police said.
The woman was stabbed on the left side of her waist, leaving her seriously injured. Her family rushed her from Koilwar PHC to Ara Sadar hospital for treatment. After receiving first aid, she was referred to Patna for further treatment.
Patel, 35, is a resident of Kulhadia village in Koilwar police station area. .
SHO of Koilwar police station Narottam Chandra arrived at the scene with police force and began investigating the matter. Khushi Kumari, daughter of the injured leader said, in 2024, her younger sister was harassed by two brothers from the same village. She had filed a complaint with the local police station.
Two days earlier, they had threatened to kill everyone at her home.
On Monday afternoon, while she and her mother were walking to the South Rural Bank in the village when the two accused followed them from behind. As they approached the bank, one of them pushed her. One grabbed her mother, and the other stabbed her in the waist, leaving her seriously injured, Khushi said....
