PURNEA, Oct. 19 -- JD(U) on Saturday announced the change of its candidate from Amaur assembly seat two days before completion of the nomination paper filing process. Saba Zafar has been replaced by Sabir Ali. Saba though had filed his nomination papers on Saturday. "The party has taken a decision to allocate the party ticket to Sabir Ali who joined the party on Saturday and he is likely to file his papers on October 20, the last day of nomination for the second and last phase of Bihar election," JD(U) district president Prakash Kumar Singh said. He added, "The party is fighting every seat to win and the decision to change the candidate is a well calculated." On being asked that Saba Zafar has already filed his nomination papers, he said, "That will be changed even after the nomination filing process." Sabir Ali is a former Rajya Sabha member who had resigned from JD(U) after 2014 and later joined BJP and LJP. He said, "It is my homecoming and I am happy with my party now and will continue to strengthen the party."...
