J'khand govt to appoint faculty for schools with one teacher
RANCHI, July 16 -- The state education department would soon be appointing teachers in primary schools which are currently running with a single teacher, besides speeding up teacher's appointment in both primary and middle schools where thousands of posts are lying vacant, people aware of the development said on Tuesday.
Officials said the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) was likely to publish results of around 8,200 successful candidates within a fortnight, followed by their appointment as teachers within a month.
As per estimates, in Jharkhand, more than 8,000 government primary schools have a single teacher.
According to 2021-22 UDISE data, Jharkhand has the highest proportion of single-teacher schools among all major Indian states - 30.9% (almost one-third) of its government primary schools, which is a violation of the Right to Education Act (RTE)....
