J'khand CEO issues notice to seven unrecognised political parties
Ranchi, Oct. 4 -- Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar has issued notices to seven registered unrecognised political parties (RUPPs) designated by the Election Commission of India (ECI), people aware of the development said on Friday.
These parties include the Jharkhand Revolutionary Party, Jharkhand Party (Secular), Lok Jan Vikas Morcha, Rashtriya Desh Party, and Rashtriya Sangail Party of Ranchi, Jharkhand People's Party of East Singhbhum and Rashtriya Jan Kranti Morcha of Chatra.
A press release by CEO's office said the parties have been informed to present their case regarding their existence and functioning before the CEO, 'failing which it will be deemed that the party has ceased to exist'.
According to the release, these parties have not submitted their annual audited account statements for last three financial years to the Commission within the stipulated time and have also not submitted their expenditure during the recently held Lok Sabha and assembly polls in the state, in violation of the Representation of the People Act, 1951....
