J'khand-based contract killer apprehended in Bihar's Gaya Ji
GAYA JI, July 11 -- In a major breakthrough, Gaya police and the Special Task Force (STF) on Thursday arrested notorious Jharkhand-based contract killer Shadab alias Lallu Khan along with one of his associates. Police also recovered two loaded pistols, 13 live cartridges, mobile phones, a Wi-Fi device, and a motorcycle from their possession.
Gaya Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anand Kumar said Shadab Khan was a dreaded criminal and contract killer with over 18 cases registered against him, including murder, kidnapping, robbery, extortion, and violations of the Arms Act. These cases are lodged at police stations in Pratappur, Amas, Chandauti, Imamganj, Kothi, and Kako.
The SSP said that Shadab had taken a contract to eliminate undertrial prisoner Foto Khan and had opened fire inside the Sherghati court premises on July 24 last year in an attempt to kill him during his court production. However, another undertrial, Golu Khan, was mistakenly killed in the firing. Since then, Shadab had been absconding, and the state government had announced a reward of Rs.50,000 for his arrest.
To nab the fugitive, the SSP formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the leadership of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shailendra Singh.
Acting on a tip-off on Thursday, the SIT learned that Shadab Khan was heading towards Madanpur in Aurangabad via Delho.
Police and STF teams led by ASP Singh cordoned off the area and launched an intensive vehicle checking drive.
During the operation, two persons on a motorcycle tried to flee upon spotting the police. They were chased and eventually apprehended....
