BETTIAH, Nov. 23 -- A 33-year-old jawan of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), who was deputed on election duty in Bairiya block in West Champaran, allegedly died by suicide by shooting himself by his service gun at a police line on Saturday, officials said in a statement. Rajnishkant Priyadarshi, sub divisional police officer (SDPO), sadar - 2 said that the jawan shot himself, in what appears to be with his LMG gun on a government school premises at Kohara Bhawanipur village under Pujaha Srinagar police station area of West Champaran district around 1.30pm on Saturday. "The exact reason for the act could not be known immediately. We are looking into the matter," said the sub divisional police officer. A police personnel, who wished not to be quoted, said he along with other policemen were shocked to find the body lying in a pool of blood on school camp after a gun shot was heard....
