ITBP Jawan killed in family dispute in Gaya Ji
PATNA, July 26 -- Hours before he was set to join his new assignment in Chhattisgarh, a jawan of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Sanjay Yadav, was beaten to death allegedly by his relatives over a family dispute in Gaya Ji district, police said on Friday. He was recently transferred from Dehradun to Chhattisgarh and was on 10 days' leave at home before reporting to his new station. Police have detained four persons for questioning in connection with the incident.
According to police, the incident took place at Bihiyan village under Wazirganj police station late on Thursday evening. On getting information a police team reached the spot where Sanjay was assaulted by his own relatives. He was taken to the nearest government hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Sanjay was returning home after visiting his agricultural field when miscreants mercilessly thrashed him with batons and sticks. He received grievous injuries on his head and was lying in a pool of blood. Some family members who tried to save him, were also attacked.
Gaya S SP Anand Kumar said initial police investigation revealed an old family dispute behind the incident. "A special investigation team headed by Wazirganj SDPO has been constituted to conduct investigation and arrest the accused persons," he said....
