BETTIAH, Jan. 11 -- An Income Tax (I-T) team comprising around 25 personnel from Patna and Jamshedpur conducted simultaneous raids on Saturday at two places linked to one Mohammed Kalim in Raxaul and the Adapur area near the Indo-Nepal border, in connection with an assets-related investigation, officials said. According to sources, the operation began early in the morning, with I-T officials arriving in around 20 vehicles and cordoning off the premises before initiating searches at two sites - Raxaul town and Bishunpurwa village under Raxaul and Adapur police station limits in East Champaran respectively. "These locations are linked to a businessman named Mohammed Kalim, who owns the Tanishq showroom and a Hero dealership in the Raxaul subdivision," said a police officer who asked not be named.
