Intermediate student killed in Danapur, prime suspect surrenders
PATNA, June 14 -- A 17-year-old boy was shot dead in the Danapur police station area on Friday, allegedly by five men seeking revenge over a past tussle between two groups, police said.
The incident took place around 11:15 am near Dr Dukhan Ram DAV Public School, when the victim and his three friends were on their way to an undisclosed location.
According to the FIR, five assailants riding two motorcycles intercepted the group, dragged one of them aside, and pumped two bullets into his head before fleeing the scene.
The victim was identified as Shrawan Kumar, an intermediate student of Baldeo Inter School and a close relative of former Danapur block pramukh and RJD leader Sunil Kumar Yadav.
Locals rushed him to Danapur Sadar Hospital, from where he was referred to a higher medical centre.
Patna City SP (West) Sharath R.S., ASP (Danapur) Bhanu Pratap Singh, and the Danapur SHO later reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
Patna SSP Avkash Kumar told Hindustan Times that the victim succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a private hospital.
The body was handed over to the family after post-mortem at IGIMS.
"An FIR has been lodged against five persons based on the statement of the victim's father. Under police pressure, one of the accused-reportedly a juvenile and the prime suspect-has surrendered. Efforts are on to recover the firearm and the motorcycle used in the crime," the SSP said....
