INDIA bloc rally a damp squib, people behind CM Nitish: NDA
PATNA, Sept. 2 -- The culmination of 'Vote Adhikaar Yatra' of the Congress in Patna with Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi's remark that after the 'atom bomb', the BJP should be ready for a 'hydrogen bomb' evoked quick response from the NDA, which described it as yet another 'bomb hoax'.
JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha termed the Rahul's Yatra a 'damp squib'. "It has all along been an aimless Yatra and there will be no impact of this political drama in the name of voters' right by the Opposition on the Bihar election. Their attempt to mislead the masses can never succeed, as people are already heavily inclined towards Bihar's development journey under the Nitish government and the Congress, RJD feel unnerved by it," he added.
Kushwaha said both Congress and the RJD were gasping for breath in Bihar, as they could see the writing on the wall. "That is why they are playing drama on roads with the sole motive of protecting their family legacy. It is height of hypocrisy that those neck deep in corruption are talking of vote theft to earn Bihar a bad name, unmindful that people still recall the old RJD regime when booth capturing was the norm," he added.
JD(U) working president and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha said that that the yatra of Rahul Gandhi was nothing more than a reflection of their negative mindset. "He threatens with bombs, and every time it turns out to be a hoax. Rahul Gandhi has been made to understand that loud is strong, but he does not understand that high decibel cannot mask the truth, which Bihar people are well aware of. Rahul Gandhi's Yatra will have some meaning only if the RJD concedes more seats to the Congress and that seems to be the only objective of the whole exercise," he added.
Union minister of state for home Nityanand Rai said before calling Nitish Kumar "father of moral corruption", Tejashwi Yadav should have looked within. "But he has no shame. His family has had a history of scams involving fodder, bitumen, milk, job etc and at least he has no moral right to speak on corruption. "His father Lalu Yadav is the symbol of corruption in the country," he added.
Rai said that the only purpose of the Yatra was using abusive language and playing with Bihar's dignity to give protection to infiltrators. "They did not even spare country's PM Narendra Modi and his late mother. But they must remember, this is Bihar where anti-national activities can never be accepted no matter how loudly they speak and how many time they issue hoax 'bomb' threats," he added.
BJP national secretary Rituraj Sinha said that it was a "failed Yatra". "Their attempt to sabotage Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has fallen flat and proved to the people that they were never for transparent polls, purification of rolls and Constitutional mandate. Their desperation is understandable after repeated rejection by the people. Earlier, they were against EVMs and now they are against SIR," he added.
Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha said Rahul Gandhi had talked about bomb earlier also, and that had proved to be worse than a cracker. "Now he is again talking of hydrogen bomb just to mislead the masses and revive the days of booth capturing and bogus voting, but he has few takers in Bihar. The Yatra has done enough to expose them and their intent to bring back horrific pre-2005 days when bomb blasts and violence at polling booths was common," he added.
Union minister and HAM-S patron Jitan Ram Manjhi hit out at both Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi. "After election, they will end up nowhere. There is no objective of their Yatra as it only reflects their mental bankruptcy," he told reporters....
