increase in number of electors after publication of final updated rolls, says ECI
PATNA, Nov. 20 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday clarified that the increase in figures of electors in Bihar as shown in early October and mid October was due to addition of electors till 10 days prior to last date of nomination for the two phases polls, as per provisions.
Many political parties, mainly from the opposition had questioned the rise in number of electors in Bihar from 74.2 million as announced after the publication of the final updated draft rolls and again in another press statement, the figure was shown as 74.5 million.

The ECI said the addition of all applications for inclusion of names after publication of final updated rolls as per SIR led to an increase of three lakh more voters. It said the updated figures were updated in a press statement issued after the polls.
Meanwhile, the ECI has published a set of 14 statistical reports for state polls, with details of state level and assembly wise electors, number of polling stations, state / AC wise voter turnout, AC wise participation of women, party wise vote share, gender-based participation, constituency data summary report, performance of parties etc....
