BETTIAH, Oct. 17 -- An illegal mini gun factory was busted and six people allegedly involved in inter-district arms smuggling were arrested on Thursday in East Champaran, police said. East Champaran Superintendent of Police (SP) Swarn Prabhat confirmed the seizure of arms and ammunition and the arrest of six people from separate locations in Chiraiya and Motihari blocks of the district. The seized items include eight magazines, 142 live cartridges, four mobile phones, and an SUV, police said. "Prima facie, it appears that they were part of an organised gang involved in smuggling arms to neighbouring districts of East Champaran and other parts of the state as well," a police officer said.
