PATNA, Nov. 20 -- The special protection group (SPG) has taken over security arrangements as Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the oath ceremony of chief minister Nitsh Kumar here at Gandhi Maidan on Thursday. A massive security has been made at the venue as PM Modi, home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, several chief ministers of various states as Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Delhi , Madhya Pradesh and several ministers and leaders are expected to attend the event. Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu and IT mnister Nara Lokesh will also be present. Patna police has made a special monitoring team at the control room which will monitor the area through drones. Around 128 CCTV cameras have also been installed in the area for keeping a watch on any suspicious movement and activities. More than 2,500 security personnel, 250 police officers, and over 250 magistrates have been deployed and snipers have been positioned on high-rise buildings around the Maidan. Roads around the venue have been barricaded to manage the crowd and all gates of the venue have been equipped with metal detectors where multi-layered checking has been enforced. On the other hand, Patna traffic police has issued a special plan for vehicular movement and advised people to avoid vehicles to Gandhi Maidan and its surrounding areas and use alternative routes from 8am to 3pm. No vehicles will be allowed from Bhattacharya Road towards Gandhi Maidan. All routes such as the police line, Kotwali or nearby hotels towards Gandhi Maidan will be stopped.
