Heavy to very heavy rainfall likely in Rajasthan
Jaipur, July 23 -- The Meteorological department has forecast a fresh spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall in eastern Rajasthan later this month, driven by a developing weather system over the Bay of Bengal.
According to the Met department, a circulation system is currently active over the Bay, which is expected to lead to the formation of a new low-pressure area around July 24. Its impact is likely to trigger intensified rainfall activity in parts of eastern Rajasthan between July 27 and 30.
In the lead-up to this, the Met predicts light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder in some areas of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Udaipur, and Kota divisions on July 22 and 23.
On July 23, moderate to heavy rain may occur at isolated places in Kota and Bharatpur divisions.
Between July 24 and 26, scattered light to moderate showers are expected across the state. The rainfall is likely to intensify again between July 27 and 30, with very heavy rainfall forecast at isolated places in Kota division, and heavy showers anticipated in Bharatpur, Jaipur, and Udaipur divisions.
Meanwhile, Sawai Madhopur, Karauli, and parts of Hadoti are facing severe disruption due to heavy rains, with key routes like the Sawai Madhopur-Sapotra-Karauli and Hadoti-Sapotra roads completely shut.
