India, Oct. 7 -- Heavy showers lashed parts of Uttarakhand, including some areas in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Dehradun, Tehri, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar districts on Monday. The higher reaches of the hilly districts, including the Kedarnath shrine experienced a light to moderate spell of snow until 4pm on Monday. Anand Shukla, priest at the Kedarnath shrine, said, "The Kedarnath shrine is experiencing light to moderate spell of snow since noon resulting in cold conditions and the devotees are being advised to come for darshan wearing woollens." Harsil area in Uttarkashi district received 11.5mm of rain and Koti in Tehri district received 5mm of rain on Monday. The areas in and around Mussoorie also experienced heavy rain....
