SASARAM, July 31 -- The Patna high court on Wednesday directed a CBI probe into the Sasaram murder case, accepting a plea filed by the brother of the deceased. According to the petition by one Rana Rahul Ranjan of Silari village in Shivsagar police station area of Rohtas district, his brother Om Prakash alias Badal was shot dead when a police team led by DSP Adil Bilal opened fire on them at Sasaram on December 27 night last year. Bilal, his bodyguard Chandramauli Nagiya and policemen allegedly reached the place to extort money from the youths who were celebrating the birthday of their friend Shivam at a private compound. When objected the officer and his bodyguard opened fire in which the petitioner's brother was killed and his friends Atul Kashyap and Vinod Pal were injured. A case was registered with Sasaram Town police station on the petitioner's statement. Earlier, police had registered two cases, one on the statement of the bodyguard and another on the statement of Sasaram Town police station SHO Rajiv Ranjan Rai. The cases alleged that the DSP on night patrol, saw some persons in hot discussions with a truck driver and rushed to the place but the persons started fleeing on bikes. Police chased them and they entered a compound where 20-25 men were already present. The bodyguard caught one of the bikers on which he was attacked by the people and they tried to snatch his service pistol. The bullet was accidentally fired....
