HC allows change in plea for Hansda killing probe
RANCHI, Sept. 24 -- The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday allowed the interlocutory application (IA) filed for some amendment in a petition filed earlier, seeking proper probe into tribal leader Surya Hansda's death in an encounter with police. The petition has been filed by the mother and widow of Hansda.
An advocate aware of the court order informed the HT, saying that Justice Ambuj Nath allowed IA on the request of petitioner's advocate Kumar Harsh. "The petition seeking a probe into Hansda's death in an encounter with police was taken up today in the bench of Justice Ambuj Nath. The petitioner has filed an IA for some amendment in the petition. The IA was allowed," the advocate said.
Petitioners' advocate, Harsh, confirmed the fact, saying, "The court allowing the IA asked me to mention the case after the Durga Puja vacation for fixing a date of hearing in the matter. The petitioners in the case are Hansda's widow Sushila Murmu, and mother Neelimuni Murmu."...
