Govt teacher roughed up for reprimanding student in West Champaran distt
BETTIAH, July 23 -- A group of villagers barged into Rajkiya Utkramit Uchch Madhyamik Vidyalaya at Chakhani Chataraul and thrashed a government teacher for allegedly scolding a student over his misdemeanour with other students in West Champaran district on Tuesday.
The teacher, Ali Akhtar, told HT over the phone that he was attacked by a group of five villagers during the break time when he was working on the computer around 12.30 pm.
"For the first few seconds, I just could not understand what hit me when they attacked me from behind. But, soon my colleagues rushed to my rescue and saved me," said Akhtar after lodging a complaint against five men with town police station Bagaha 1.
In his complaint, the school teacher said that his attackers threatened him with dire consequences.
"It so happened that a student of class VI was bullying other students and misbehaving with them. He was rebuked for his behaviour and made to sit in the office but he managed to slip out of the school unnoticed and returned with five men," the teacher told HT.
Bagaha-1's block education officer (BEO) Laxmikant Shrivastava, said that two of the five attackers have been identified by the school students.
"We are looking into the matter," the BEO said....
