govt doctors oppose ban on private practice
PATNA, April 27 -- Bihar Health Services Association (BHSA) has opposed 'any move' by the state government to impose a blanket ban on private practice by government doctors without prior consultation with it, according to a press note released on Sunday.
"During a state-level core committee meeting here, the association deliberated on key service conditions and unanimously resolved to resist any attempt to enforce a private practice ban that ignores the association, said Dr Vinay Kumar," spokesperson of BHSA.
The association said a state-level general body meeting-cum-conference was scheduled for May 17 to finalise its course of action and consider stronger measures, if required. It added that withholding salaries solely on the basis of biometric attendance would be unacceptable unless its long-pending demands are addressed.
The demands include optional or home district postings, adequate residential facilities for doctors and robust security arrangements. HTC...
