PATNA, Aug. 13 -- A 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by an unidentified miscreant after being taken out of her house in Vaishali district on Monday night, police said. Police further said that the incident occurred at Chakmmaruf village which falls under Belsar police station limits of the district. The girl was later admitted to the Hajipur Sadar Hospital for treatment. The incident surfaced on Tuesday morning when the victim's father started searching for his daughter, and found her lying in the field. Soon, he informed the police about the incident. Upon getting information, Mahua Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) Gopal Mandal reached the spot and started a probe. Forensic experts were also rushed to the site to gather evidence.
